well, the genre the character is in is left up to the imagination.... futuristic pickpocketter, current times pickpocketter, medievil times...whatever you want.
there's alot of creativity in showing personality in a character.

I really shouldn't start these at night, I always end up working on them until 4 in the morning. And then I think of a better idea the next day anyway. But as much as I complain, I'm quite happy with this one.
Now it's time for sleep.

Went with a more traditional, Dickensian approach. Three quarters of the way through I realised that it only worked if you had some cultural familiarity with Dickens, Fagin et al. Hence the loot on the barrel.

Haha, Kirt, that's great.
Nice work everyone. Been away from the DSG for a while, but couldn't resist doing a tribute to everyone's favourite pickpocket.

Ok, Maybe this one doesn't really count cause I did it a few days ago and not this morning, but some of you may like it anyways. Pickpocket (http://www.deviantart.com/view/5313133/)

schmu_20mol- its a good start... if you want to really make your characters "flow" mabey try defining the contours of your characters in arcs that extend beyond the body..
I know that probably didnt makes too much, sense, but here is a link to a person that does it well...
http://www.shaneglines.net/shaneart/girls/girls47.html
p.s. its easier to do on larger paper!
http://members.tripod.com/carlbeu/7a7293c0.jpg
Im trying out more stuff with traditional media right now.. the textures in this are from a photograph and some of it is just left over from the bumpy paper.

Oregano I do use photobucket, I just posted over the top this month. Also my file sizes are too big, to use regularly.

Here's a colab between me, Hyver, and NecroNet on OC:
http://www.hyver.com/store/pickpocket-oc.jpg
we got a bit sidetracked and eventually we stopped because Hyver had to do his own DSG. Its not finished at all, but whatever. The mech is supposed to be pickpocketing the cop, though it looks like he is trying to steal his gun with the pic like itis right now. Oh well. And there was some funny stuff goin on down at the bottom...
Hyver did the cop torso and the face at the bottom, NecroNet did the legs, pan, and bg, and I did the mech.

guns1inger & Okelvin: - I really like the Dickensian approach. Very apt for the theme. I meant to do that but it didn't work out as planned. Ah well...
Iotrez: Very cute - I love it :)

Harold was always taking advantage of poor old Arnie... he was blind as a bat with those big thick glasses! Like that one time after their exciting archaelogy adventure...

hi guys, looks like I just missed the cutoff!
I have been watching from afar for a couple of weeks and just now decided that i have to play, too.
I haven't really drawn conventionally for quite some time, this wacom + painter stuff is fun, thanks for inspiring me to get back into it.
