OK. let me introduce myself. My name is Dave Poyner I'm currently a sophomore illustration major at Rowan University. But I've decided it is in my best interest to go to an art school. This past week I got into both Ringling/SVA's illustration program and I'm pretty excited to say the least.

Anyway I've heard great things bout both schools but I was wondering what the social life is like at each school. Althouh it is still considered a small school, I'm at a University where 10,000 people attend. I'm just wondering what most people do for fun (besides make pretty pictures;) ). Is it very clickish or are people generally chill? What about the surrounding city for Ringling (I live near NYC so I have an idea bout how great of a place that is)? And how big/small is the campus and is it aesthetically pleasing (unlike the craphole I go to now)? Don't get me wrong my primary focus is school work and art, but it's just a concern of mine that it'd be pretty boring at either school and I'd like to know what I'm getting myself into.

I'll be visiting both schools soon. I live in monmouth county (Central Jersey) and go to school in NJ so getting to Florida is a bit of a hassle. I'll be there March 12th-19th and visit Ringling one day during the week. So if any current Ringling students want to meet up and could help me out with getting to know the place, that'd be awesome.

Thanks for any help.
