Today is the day for another top interview with another top artist and this month I bring you the immense digital art of Alex Ruiz. With an intense surreal feel to his otherworldly, abstract art, Mr. Ruiz is one of the most uniquely stylised artists I have come across.

What I love the most about his work (other than the scifi & fantasy elements), is the way he constructs his subjects. If you could imagine a giant magnet in a junk yard pulling thousands of metal objects towards it and then forming orderally into, say, a titan sized elephant (See Here (http://www.designyourway.net/artists/Elephas_Maximus_by_tarrzan.jpg)), you can begin to see sort of what I am talking about. But, with a magnet, there is an element of randomness to the way in which the metal objects would stick. With Alex's work, I don't feel that randomness.

Other Stuff

Alex teaches art and often posts "How-To" digital art tutorials on his Deviant Art page. SO as a treat, I politely comendeared 3 of these and reworked them for the blog (with permission of course) and will be posting them up every Thursday this month, starting next week.

Until then, read the awesome Interview (http://artistinsight.blogspot.com/2010/05/alex-ruiz-interview.html).
