I took this pic of chicago and i love it. The only thing im iffy about is the lighting from the sky. I'm curious if people think it's too much and if it sort of washes out the buildings. Feedback and help are always appreciated ^^ Here's the link:

i personally like the sky it kinda adds a unique contrast to the picture, the building on the left thats faded defiantly adds depth to the picture.

Yes, I think the light bloom from the sky is way too pronounced.

Too pronounced for what?

I think what he means is; that corner of the image is overexposed and detracts from the composition.
The image is constructed of lines, angles and sheer edges, but that one building has no discernable edge against the sky, and the effect does not appear intentional.

Well, my point was, that it's only too pronounced if it's not what he was trying to do. Are Picasso's paintings wrong? Of course you can tell someone that their anatomy is off or that their shadows aren't dark enough, but sometimes those are done on purpose or the choice of artistic choice which is why we are not robots and photorealist art or perfect photo are not the very summit of art achievement. I don't think the sky is too anything personally, but I don't know what the goal of the picture was.
I'm not saying that all art is good yada yada, but that you can only judge art based on whether or it achieves it's goal. Sometimes the goal is NOT to be realistic.
