well the concept is UBER Cliche and i cant see anything new with it, and it doesnt look that very realistic, more like millitary wanna be with homemade madeforgardenwork kneepads and granddads ol' fishing boots.

This my one of the first pieces of done using my new wacome. I need advice guys. Im thinking my pieces are looking to clean when its just the effect I dont want. This particular piece was done as a concept for a game mod im helping with. The game is set in the future and i needs futuristic reference but im trying to avoid the cliche of scifi shiny startreck future. I want the look and feel to be very muddy dirty and exhuasting so i decided to use vietnam as a setting for the mood. But mixing these to erras together correctly is proving difficult.

I need these crits its helping. One problem i think i had with this one was using an IRAQ WAR reference as a guide instead of a Vietnam Photo.

i like the pose, but the head and the chest are massive compared to the rest of it, and yeah like Crash said it is cliche, but you know what? if the game is interesting enough and maybe if you and some depth/background to his personality it'll make up for the boring char design. still, i think you should add something to his chest like some kinda techy thing like his arm, its looking pretty bare right now

as for making it look dirty i think maybe look at jon foster's (http://www.jonfoster.com/illo.html#) stuff? i dunno, maybe thats kinda the style youre going for?

if you want more people to reply to your threads some more info on your mod could help.

I wouldn't be able to tell wether this guy was sitting or doing the monkey if you hadn't added it in text. Try and add it in the picture as well, be clear in your poses.
