This might sound silly, but I am just wondering....do Every Pixar animator has gone to big artschools? like a degree program?

A majority do, but certainly not all. I know a Pixar animator who majored in dance at a state school, and a texturing artist at Pixar with a degree in rocket science from Berkley.

Pixar is giving an online degree in animation. It involves a four-year training program from a technical school or college.Maya is a very versatile 3D modeling and animation program and is somewhat of a standard in the 3D industry.

A lot of the Pixar artists went to CalArts, but there are some self trained artists. The only online course in character animation that I know of is http://www.animationmentor.com/. There are several Pixar mentors and if you're not willing to relocate or living in Europe this is one great school. Check out the videos I say. Don't waste your time modeling if you want to be a character animator, spent it on doing animation.
