This is a gillman that I basically began and abandoned 3 years ago in 2007. I opened up the ZTL yesterday thinking, what the hell I will finish it and add it to my demo reel. When I opened it I thought--this needs a lot of work and this could be really great. So I exported out the low rez geometry and made some changes in blender. Then I exported it back into ZBrush and restarted. :-)

Nice work. Ive often found that revisiting old projects can lead to some pretty wicked results. Its also interesting to see how youve progressed over the years. Cool stuff man.

Yeah, I always kept my old models on my hard drive, *in case* one day I would pick them up and finish them.

Nice rework Man. Love the bone knife! That is damn cool! Spot of bio-engineering there which I really like. Nicely thought out.
Only crit I have of the GillMan is the tail fin. Are you going to detail that up like a fishes as well? If so then check out a John Dory tail or something similar.

Yeah, the lower half in those pictures is still very rough. :-)
Thank you about the knife, I happened to discover the inspiration for it here:

I was just googling "knife"
The tail I am working on right now (I had to remodel it a bit to give it a higher poly count and re-imported into ZBrush)

Yup! The design works nicely. When I looked at the finished tail first I seriously wondered if it was right but the more I look at it the better it fits with the overall alien physiology. Colour schemes? Check out Nudibranchs : http://www.sergeyphoto.com/underwater/nudibranchs.html for some amazing schemes.

Yeah, the more I worked on it, the more it departed from the really fishy look and turned into a dinosaur fish guy thing. ;)
Nice link--I'm currently crippling my computer with the renders right now which I will post soon.
