Woo first to get something up :D
Second dsg, wasn't going to do it today, too much uni work, but it sounded interesting

Tried to combine a semi scary monster with cheap costume, about 1 hour in photoshop.

B-Movie Killer - Audrey II from Little Shoppe of Horrors

http://users.tpg.com.au/adslrotx/images/audreyii.jpg

Around 20 minutes in Photoshop.

As an aside, in the late 80's I built an animatronic version for a staging of the musical version.

I'm not overly thrilled with this so I may give it another shot, see if I can make her even mildly attractive next time...

Victim in the spotlight!
Not sure what a B-Movie is exactly. If this looks off topic feel free to delete.

jeroentje: Just wow!
guns1inger: Amazing!

Hm... Carniflex has a good point. She's either in a puddle of blood, or that's the background you used to make her look sinister. Excellent work, either way. You're my DSG hero, Hunger!

Had fun with this one. Like Jeroentje, I couldn't resist a stab *cough* at those old posters. So corny and so garish - at least my little homage is. (his is much more tasteful *grin*)

Nice work, everyone!

A second attempt and definitely inspired by Hunger_Artist's very graphic style, which I love. Totally the opposite of what I'm used to but def fun to try out.

Lots of good pics today, good ideas too. This one is pretty standard, but I had fun doing it.

Okay...a serious answer to that question. In the 40's, 50's and 60's, particularly in the US, theatres and drive-ins usually had just a single screen, and afterwards the main movie they would show a second one. The first movie was usually something very good (starring A-list actors) - the second (or "B") movie was usually as cheaply made as cheap can be. These types of movies include the Hammer Horror files (of Christopher Lee fame), any movie by Ed Wood (Plan 9 from Outer Space, for example) and generally any film that was too cheap to be able to afford real actors, special effects, etc. Eventually these campy films (which were usually horror and science-fiction films) developed into their own kind of specialty genre and were known as "B-movies."

"Kill Bill" is an homage to a certain type of B-movie. So's "Skeleton of Cadavra" (to name some currently playing movies). Without B-movies, there would be no Army of Darkness, no Star Wars, no Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and of course, no Mystery Science Theater 3000. :D

Sorry. No time today for mine. Have some crits though.

ApricotSoup - Nice. It would have been so much more dramatic to make the moster struggling with the zipper, hence he's the victim too. Just a thought.
Iotrez - "A black dress moves in a blue movie." Nice quicky.
schmu_20mol - To add more depth and life to your scene, you should have had the TV light casting shadows everywhere but the perspective path toward the user.
guns1inger - Feed me!
jeroentje - Very nice and soft. Good idea.
Amerasu - The bricks in the wall are very off. They are not in proper persepctive sizes and look very stretched.
MindCandyMan - That is just disturbing... hahah. Made me laugh too though. Says alot of my sense of humor.
Swan - That is too funny. And very well done too. Good one.
Beatnik - Oh. I would rent that in a second. Very nice.
ducktape - Have you checked the manufacturer's web site for the drivers? It would be a real shame if a scanner is not supporting an OS that has been around for 4 years. Good luck.

Til tomorrow...

I wanted to try an all grayscale thing, like the "storyboard" style I was talking about yesterday...

This is what I came up with... 1h 40m, used references for layout...

First place I checked. I found (After DLing 3 different drivers) "this model does not have drivers for Windows 2000." Well, at least it was free. Time to pawn it on ebay, I think.
