Hey guys
I'm an art major at a state college in FL and about halfway through my second year of taking art classes.
Do you guys have any suggestions for me?
This is a Charcoal self portrait I'm working on.

looks like youre nailing the likeness every time! very good shadows too. I would only suggest changing up the angle and also explore different lighting solutions - down/front lighting is so overused in everything. try maybe lighting from both sides and have your shadows meet in the middle of your face, or from below for that creepy horror movie look ;)

Mooorree!!!
These are incredible!! You're doin' so well man.
Its gonna be cool to look you up in 10 years and see wtf you're doing.
A year ago you were a 1st stage evolution and you could only use tail whip. Now you're like lv. 38!! Still 2nd stage though, cause you're a legendary pokemon. You don't evolve until level 53. But then you're a badass.

I agree, you art works are really good, especially I liek the one in graphite and watercolors.
I think you should work more with pencil portraits.
Great job!

one suggestion i have is that you should try some different angles and poses of yourself, have someone take lots of different pictures of you doing natural actions, and youll find your portraits will have alot more fluidity and will capture the viewers intrest easier... oh also dont be afraid to show your eyes more theyre very important in bringing emotion out in the viewer.
hope i helped out, keep up the good work, i like your style with the charcoal

Glad you threw in that 10 minute sketch at the end because that's what I was about to suggest in case you haven't been using a mirror. Nice quick self portraits from mirrors really train the eye and speed so you make quick decisions and bring more life to the drawing. A lot of fast portraits capture more of the person's spirit in the first half hour better than many people do after 10 hours of rendering.
The eyes in the second watercolor are a bit out of alignment, but the colors are very nice especially for the skin. You have consistent likeness in your drawings and good practice with various mediums.

Yeah I do all my self portraits with a mirror, 2 for profiles
I agree that the spontaneity of a work can add to it, and i see what you mean about the watercolor
thanks for the input

They are awesome, and gorgerous technique.
I'd like if you change more your point of view or expression, you use to use the same ;) but they are awesome anyway.
