All right, just started z-brush sculpting, want to do surface texture and polypaint eventually, but no neck for this guy... I know the ear needs more polys, might try retopolygizing(or whatever its called)

Critique and suggestions welcome, but remember this is my first z-brush sculpting attempt. Thanks...

Great start Mate. Now, fine tuning. To make this come alive you need to sort the corners of the mouth (bottom lip inwards), sharpen the meeting of the lips, create shallow undercuts around bottom of the nose, hard edge around the eyelids where they are in contact with the eyeball, tidy up under the chin and first take the ears and give them more definition. Cool.

The trick with faces is to look at everyone that you see everyday and start to make notes of how they go together. It's good fun! And if someone challenges you for studying them tell them what you are about. Great conversation starter!

Waipunga - thanks for the crit, still working on him, going on to asymmetry and details. Yep will work more on the eyes now... redid the nose a bit, I'm satisfied now. As for the mouth, damn, I just leave it alone and get some more ref for the next one.

Forms looking OK so far, you could do with another subdivision at least for the lips and ears. Eyes are a touch far apart, bottom part of the ear needs to come out. Neck is still drooping. try it with and without perspective and use different shaders, personally I hate working in red wax, it shows too much detail and has too much translucency.

Far better than my first Zbrush head, which was an abomination!

You can tell he's evil :P :)

The brow/eyebrow arrangement looks a little odd.

Done with this guy!
All right, I've decided to leave him alone for now, reason is that hair isn't really possible to do realistically in z-brush. So in some distant future I'll probably continue on him and try to do the hair and brows.
