Sinbane's Sci-Fi Sketchbook

This is a sketchbook of mine that is fan-based and original.

The fan-based things I draw from is from a game series created by Micropose called Master of Orion.

This will be updated periodically.

I made a few images reffered from the two MOO games.

The biggest thing that catches my eye is that proportions look a bit off - the upper body is way larger than the lower half. I'd make the legs a bit longer so it would look more balanced. I think anatomy studies might help a lot with the whole thing because it's easier to combine different creatures when you have good knowledge of their anatomy. The shading is also a bit smudgy, was that by accident? If not, smudging can make pictures look porridgey or dirty so it should be used sparingly unless you're sure of what you're doing. I think it might look a bit more crisp if you just used the pencil for shading with varying pressure or with hatching. Experiment so you'll find out what's best for you. Draw, draw, draw! :)
