Tree-herd concepts for the lord of the rings.

I really like the way these look but something doesn't quite satisfy my eyes. Perhaps it is because I don't see much form to the hulking mass of organic shapes and textures. I really like the way you designed the arms and hands and would love to see that same style carried out through more of the body of the tree-herd. Nice work though, very nice!

thats amazing man..
i actually like the fact that the form is hard to clearly identify.. it makes the features look more like natural growths and whatnot.. its like you can always find faces in naturally occuring things like bark or clouds.. these creatures look like the faces are almost un identafiable but just enough to let your imagination take hold,.
i like!

I like it. As creatures they work well, but the sense of "animate tree" that are Ents isn't conveyed that well to me. If you hadn't told me that they were in fact Ents, then I would not have known. I think the reasoning behind this is the bark doesn't look very much like, well, bark. Also, the lack of leaves and stray branches don't really give it that flora feel.
Good anyway, though.
