EOW 138 the landscape under the bed
imagine you are 5 years old.
It is late and dark at night and you are alone on the special island that is your bed. as you start to drift to sleep. only you are not sleeping you imagine what might exist under your bed. ...in the darkest corners. you fall and find yourself three inches (+- 6cm) tall in an alien world which is strangely familiar. feel fre to let your imagination run wild, becasue inthe worls between sleep and imagination anything can exist.

The full image gets added with the attachment manager, however.
After you uploaded the thumbnail somewhere, you simply add the around it and you're done

Darn-- Totally forgot about this! Well, I think this thing is done enough to be considered an entry... I guess...
Anyway, this is a hybrid of traditional acrylic and watercolor with photoshop & painter.

see if I leave it open waaaaayyyy beyond deadline cool stuff keeps coming in!... i will close this tonight and post new... but i will give you another half day
April 9th, 2010, 04:06 PM
Great stuff all around! I didnīt have time to join this one.. too bad
I have a question, is it just me or does anyone else feel that this prolonging of the deadlines, wich is for a good cause, to let more great pieces in, gets a bit disturbing? Iīm the kind that actually need deadlines because they force me to get into creative & finishing off mode.. but knowing that the deadline will probably get extended anyway.. makes me jump back to idle mode.. I know.. itīs a matter of selfdiscipline but thatīs me ; ) .
Also preparing yourself for working for clients & "real" deadlines is a good thing right?
If not "enough" pieces get submitted before deadline, maybe extend the number of days for a topic from the start?
thanks for your time,
/grumpy old hilding ; ) oh, I canīt wait for the next topic!
April 9th, 2010, 04:39 PM
I agree wiht hilding, why have deadlineīs if the keep getting pushed further and further. And when is it okay to comment on the final pices? voting or not in EOW??
Looking forward to the next topic, although begin new work on monday and leaves for London for a week on wensday.. Must remember sketchbook and pencils..
April 9th, 2010, 07:12 PM
hilding, Benza I know prolonging the deadline can be nagging, we all want to see the result of the poll and move on to the next topic but we must remember that mods are volunteers and have a life to live...
(about clients and deadlines: more often than not if a client says the deadline is on the XXth day actually he/she needs the work done before the XXth+15... They already take into account our delays.
I suggest to take the deadline for good and use the extra time for refining your piece)
I'm half drunk, I hope what I've written makes sense.

Iīm grateful for the time they put in to this, Guess Iīm just one of thoose impatient ones. =)
April 10th, 2010, 11:32 AM
sorry folks ..you know when I run this on a tight ship. exactly one week etc etc
the number of entries falls off to 5 or 6 a week. people generally feel that an environment takes longer. I happen to be in California at the moment. and as I am visiting my mother and am concerned about her health I haven't been as attentive here
as I might be.
make you a deal
I'll keep the deadlines..if you will

Voted for jeltz
Really like the surreal feeling he has achieved.
April 12th, 2010, 11:13 AM
Merlin got my vote for this round, liked the surrealism and the great use of light overall mood on the image.

merl1n: Very cool, very nicely rendered landscape!
jeltz: Close one between the two of you, but I give you my vote. Cute, children friendly landscape. Nice angle, atmosphere and characters!

I voted for Jeltz. Yours seemed to fit the "landscape" and the "under the bed" parts very nicely to me, without being too obvious!
