Today's topic is: Vehicle: Cow Plougher
February 17th, 2004, 05:10 AM
You mean plower?
February 17th, 2004, 05:47 AM
Maybe ploughs ... pulled (or pushed ... or driven) by cows?
February 17th, 2004, 06:27 AM
or maybe its a meat wagon that harvests cows for tasty burger experience, hehe:p
February 17th, 2004, 06:37 AM
thanks for responses and link to dinotopia pics yesterday. Wish I could do comments, but probably won't be able to until school cuts out. :(

"Dismembering cows? Brutal topic!" ... was the first thing I thought.
Ssilentbrain I like yours. They are not dismembered ... just harvested. Nice.
Apache that totally rocks.
25 minutes sketch.
Have to practice using Mspaint. For artbattles agains others ...
most of them between 10 and 15 years old.
DAMN just noticed the missing "h"
February 17th, 2004, 10:59 AM
Last weeks ideas were really good but I guess there can only be so much of that.
Cow plougher/plower? That's just silly. I guess silly can be good but it doesn't make me want to take time out of my busy school scheduele. Ok I'm pretty sure I spelled that word wrong.
See what you do to me DSG?! DO YOU SEE?! Maybe weak ideas like the cow plower are a good choice.
February 17th, 2004, 11:16 AM
@ brain - dude simply amazing....but why are those cows still intact, lol :)
@ apache - quite disturbing, but classy, i dont know why but an image from heavy metal F.A.K.K. 2 comes to mind (if youve seen the movie im thinking of the arena when the lizard king was saaughtered)...cant explain why though
@ Sig - dude youre the reason i get up in the morning...just so i can laugh myself back to sleep, oh and how do you customise your brushes the line work is amazing, keep it up ;-)
LONG LIVE DSG!!!!
February 17th, 2004, 11:30 AM
OK, so I needed more sleep :)
February 17th, 2004, 12:30 PM
Man am I glad some of you posted already, because the only thing that I could think of was the plough on the front of old steam engines.
Must. Drink. More. Coffee....
Oh, and thanks to everyone who commented on Holden's work yesterday. He likes to know what the subject is and who has done what for the day almost everyday. He really gets excited about the DSG.

10 min in PS 6. I have a lot of experience drawing cows - check out my animated short: Cows Are Evil (http://www.atomicagedog.com/cows/cows.htm)
apache - I love the energy in that sketch. :) That's the sort of image that a single additional line could ruin.
Hey, appearantly I'm a warrior now. What do these titles mean, anyway?
February 17th, 2004, 02:08 PM
hey guys thanx for a few comments yesterday, like i said im new to this forum and draing in general, this is my second picture.
this is a guy operating Meat Wagon ( lmao )
i need more coffe...
btw.. great work guys, some funny and original stuff. I love "signature" , man where do ur ideas come from ?
"brain" awesome concept
February 17th, 2004, 02:50 PM
A very strange topic! I had to think about this one and still my idea isn't very imaginative - or practical :)
Just a quickie from me.. and I used a ref. I don't recall ever drawing a cow before.
Railboy - I like yours. I was going to do something similar but mine came out ugly. Yours looks good.
February 17th, 2004, 02:52 PM
Plower \Plow"er\, Plougher \Plough"er\, n. One who plows; a plowman; a cultivator
February 17th, 2004, 03:34 PM
Since I couldn't imagine how you could plough a cow (without killing it just for fun  ) i did a cow with a plough.
Done with my new copics i got today :D
And some comments:
Railboy: hahaha, thats a great Idea. Bloddy and funny!
silentbrain: Intersting concept. But I think they are more havester than a plough. But It looks definitely good.

maybe one day i'll be good at drawing things fast http://img7.photobucket.com/albums/v18/osmus/cowplough.jpg
February 17th, 2004, 05:20 PM
Mike - if that's what was intended...yeah, I agree. I thought about it for a while before deciding that if they'd meant a plow pulled by cows, they'd have said that, and that they were going for the more surreal subject. *shrug*
It was a challenge for me, and I suppose that's the whole point. I once had to assign an artist to draw a horse seated a table, eating a bacon and eggs breakfast, and watching other horses racing!!! So crazier things have happened.
Amerasu, Oregano, Signature - your sketches made me laugh out loud. Nice job!
Apache -yeoch, that's some nice line work.
Talkabout_Design - I certainly don't want to discourage you. I like what you've done a lot, and while it's clearly labeled as being a plower....umm...maybe more show and less tell? Draw him with a plow? Plowing? This man could be anyone in almost any situation. I think you need to tie him in with the theme a little.
February 17th, 2004, 06:19 PM
hey, my first (artistic) post here.
i really need a scanner cause i can't work with my brothers wacom. and drawing with a mouse sucks.
anyways, as far as i will go in the DSG: it will be the tought behind my "art" that counts :)
February 17th, 2004, 06:27 PM
Hm, maybe a bit off topic...
But it's a cow and it's also my speediest speed painting in history.
February 17th, 2004, 06:46 PM
I agree that this topic is a challenge ... not so much a fun topic.
Still I enjoy the entries.
Hehe I like yours. A bit on the disgusting side ... but obviously that is intentional.
Since I got some nice comments about the ideas I decided to write a book.
It will be available in stores soon.
Click here to see the cover (http://www.andyart.de/images/oldandbad/befunny.jpg)
jeroentje: Niiiice! I would have posted in the speedpainting thread though.
Since it is a bit off topic.
But then I would have missed it maybe.
That would have sucked! So good thing you posted here!
BrainBug: Damn ... that's hilarious.
Really love how the cow takes her job seriously.
I think it is my personal favorite.
Not only because nobody is hurt or slaughtered ... but it is a reason too.
Swan: Reminds me how badly I want to be able to render stuff properly.
Everything about yours is just perfect.
Oregano, Osmus: Those remind me of some entries in the dino topic.
Nicely rendered, both of them. And I think they are perfectly on topic.
Kartoffel: I really like good marker sketches. This is one of them.
Amerasu: I think it IS imaginative. And the idea nicely executed.
Personally I think it is a bit sad though. The poor thing.
Railboy: Woah that's one strong piece. Scary.
And it is obvious that you are a cow expert.
Al Ian: LOL. "Cow Snowplough Group at your service!" ?
I like it.
sic8sic: Wow. Maybe it is easier for you to wake up in the morning.
But it sounds like a HUGE compliment for me.
Line quality? Now I get it ... you probably meant Apache!?
I'm the wrong person to ask stuff about brushes.
Can I rest now? :)
February 17th, 2004, 07:36 PM
just amazing, what ideas all of you have ^^
i had no new idea, that isnt already here... so i just made a referenced one.
February 17th, 2004, 08:23 PM
My wife wanted to contribute today. So, here it is.
February 17th, 2004, 09:05 PM
I managed a second one. Silly fun :)
I like your wife's cow, micmac
Cybot Floor - I like your painting, the colours especially. It looks good.
Signature - I'm not entirely sure of the meaning of your second pic but I do like the cow teeth :)
jeroentje - Love those legs!
BrainBug - Haha, I like it
Swan - Your painting is lovely, really nice. Fun too.
Osmus - Nice idea
Oregano - I really like your bright colours
Kartoffel - Brutal machine!
I think I commented on the others previously. Sorry if I missed anyone.
February 17th, 2004, 09:25 PM
Railboy that Cows are Evil anim kicks ASS..is it all drawn with pen\marker?? must have took a very long time..
February 17th, 2004, 11:36 PM
mad cow plough?
Seems to me that cows wouldn't really look forward to plough day
February 18th, 2004, 12:09 AM
There havent been alot of posts the last few days... I guess when you get a post that isnt as fun you need to try to make it more fun or more interesting to you, so i designed a robotic cow, called the Cow Plower 3000. I just remembered hat i forgot to ad smoke coming out of his nose. Damn it!!... Oh well. Here is my post, tell me what y'all thanks.
February 18th, 2004, 12:24 AM
it is plowing up wild cows so the new genetically enhanced cows can be sown.
Resistant to mad cow and all that :D
February 18th, 2004, 12:27 AM
Hello all... I'm not that good at drawing yet, especially with non-pencil mediums... but I want to learn more.
I created my entry with Painter, using the Charcoal tools. The shape of the truck is based on a reference photo (sorry, I couldn't do it without a reference).
Suggestions for improvements are appreciated!
February 18th, 2004, 12:36 AM
DONT MESS WITH MY HOE BIATCH!
uhh, cool? lol
February 18th, 2004, 01:02 AM
I wanted to try something less realistic, though it didn't turn out as cartoony or as funny as I had hoped! Oh well.. keep trying!
February 18th, 2004, 03:20 AM
Amerasu: It is supposed to be a gladiator using a plow pulled by cows ...
instead of horse-and-carriage.
The cows expression show, that they KNOW they will win.
Hehe thanks for the reply though. Moved it to redo list *cries* ;)
February 18th, 2004, 03:52 AM
Some fantastically funny stuff here guys :D
I read it as a vehicle dsg... Even if I saw the funny side, I were a bit borish and decided to do some work on my vehicle skills (oh boy, do I need it too!). One sketchbook page...
Silentbrain - I like that design :D
Oregano - I agree with U, the locomotive plow was the fisrst thing in my head too :)
February 18th, 2004, 04:08 AM
Great stuff guys--I love the creativity! Though the idea is pretty vague, you're doing a lot with it. Keep it up, and I look forward to seeing you in tomorrow's DSG.
February 18th, 2004, 12:11 PM
