Maybe ploughs ... pulled (or pushed ... or driven) by cows?
SicFrost
February 17th, 2004, 04:27 AM
or maybe its a meat wagon that harvests cows for tasty burger experience, hehe:p

"Dismembering cows? Brutal topic!" ... was the first thing I thought.
Ssilentbrain I like yours. They are not dismembered ... just harvested. Nice.
Apache that totally rocks.

Last weeks ideas were really good but I guess there can only be so much of that.
Cow plougher/plower? That's just silly. I guess silly can be good but it doesn't make me want to take time out of my busy school scheduele. Ok I'm pretty sure I spelled that word wrong.
See what you do to me DSG?! DO YOU SEE?! Maybe weak ideas like the cow plower are a good choice.

@ brain - dude simply amazing....but why are those cows still intact, lol :)
@ apache - quite disturbing, but classy, i dont know why but an image from heavy metal F.A.K.K. 2 comes to mind (if youve seen the movie im thinking of the arena when the lizard king was saaughtered)...cant explain why though
@ Sig - dude youre the reason i get up in the morning...just so i can laugh myself back to sleep, oh and how do you customise your brushes the line work is amazing, keep it up ;-)

Man am I glad some of you posted already, because the only thing that I could think of was the plough on the front of old steam engines.
Must. Drink. More. Coffee....
Oh, and thanks to everyone who commented on Holden's work yesterday. He likes to know what the subject is and who has done what for the day almost everyday. He really gets excited about the DSG.
Cheers,

10 min in PS 6. I have a lot of experience drawing cows - check out my animated short: Cows Are Evil (http://www.atomicagedog.com/cows/cows.htm)
apache - I love the energy in that sketch. :) That's the sort of image that a single additional line could ruin.

A very strange topic! I had to think about this one and still my idea isn't very imaginative - or practical :)
Just a quickie from me.. and I used a ref. I don't recall ever drawing a cow before.

Railboy - I like yours. I was going to do something similar but mine came out ugly. Yours looks good.

Plower \Plow"er\, Plougher \Plough"er\, n. One who plows; a plowman; a cultivator
Kartoffel
February 17th, 2004, 01:34 PM
Since I couldn't imagine how you could plough a cow (without killing it just for fun  ) i did a cow with a plough.
http://web703.athen023.server4free.de/dsg356_cow.jpg
Done with my new copics i got today :D
And some comments:
Railboy: hahaha, thats a great Idea. Bloddy and funny!
silentbrain: Intersting concept. But I think they are more havester than a plough. But It looks definitely good.

Mike - if that's what was intended...yeah, I agree. I thought about it for a while before deciding that if they'd meant a plow pulled by cows, they'd have said that, and that they were going for the more surreal subject. *shrug*
It was a challenge for me, and I suppose that's the whole point. I once had to assign an artist to draw a horse seated a table, eating a bacon and eggs breakfast, and watching other horses racing!!! So crazier things have happened.
http://www.jenniferwilliamson.com/dailysketch/cow-sketch.jpg
Amerasu, Oregano, Signature - your sketches made me laugh out loud. Nice job!
Apache -yeoch, that's some nice line work.
Talkabout_Design - I certainly don't want to discourage you. I like what you've done a lot, and while it's clearly labeled as being a plower....umm...maybe more show and less tell? Draw him with a plow? Plowing? This man could be anyone in almost any situation. I think you need to tie him in with the theme a little.

hey, my first (artistic) post here.
i really need a scanner cause i can't work with my brothers wacom. and drawing with a mouse sucks.
anyways, as far as i will go in the DSG: it will be the tought behind my "art" that counts :)

Hm, maybe a bit off topic...
But it's a cow and it's also my speediest speed painting in history.

I agree that this topic is a challenge ... not so much a fun topic.
Still I enjoy the entries.
talkabout_design:
Hehe I like yours. A bit on the disgusting side ... but obviously that is intentional.
Since I got some nice comments about the ideas I decided to write a book.
It will be available in stores soon.
Click here to see the cover (http://www.andyart.de/images/oldandbad/befunny.jpg)
jeroentje: Niiiice! I would have posted in the speedpainting thread though.
Since it is a bit off topic.
But then I would have missed it maybe.
That would have sucked! So good thing you posted here!
BrainBug: Damn ... that's hilarious.
Really love how the cow takes her job seriously.
I think it is my personal favorite.
Not only because nobody is hurt or slaughtered ... but it is a reason too.
Swan: Reminds me how badly I want to be able to render stuff properly.
Everything about yours is just perfect.
Oregano, Osmus: Those remind me of some entries in the dino topic.
Nicely rendered, both of them. And I think they are perfectly on topic.
Kartoffel: I really like good marker sketches. This is one of them.
Great design!
Amerasu: I think it IS imaginative. And the idea nicely executed.
Personally I think it is a bit sad though. The poor thing.
Railboy: Woah that's one strong piece. Scary.
And it is obvious that you are a cow expert.
Al Ian: LOL. "Cow Snowplough Group at your service!" ?
I like it.
sic8sic: Wow. Maybe it is easier for you to wake up in the morning.
But it sounds like a HUGE compliment for me.
Line quality? Now I get it ... you probably meant Apache!?
I'm the wrong person to ask stuff about brushes.

There havent been alot of posts the last few days... I just remembered hat i forgot to ad smoke coming out of his nose. Damn it!!... Oh well. Here is my post, tell me what y'all thanks.

Hello all... I'm not that good at drawing yet, especially with non-pencil mediums... but I want to learn more.
I created my entry with Painter, using the Charcoal tools. The shape of the truck is based on a reference photo (sorry, I couldn't do it without a reference).
Suggestions for improvements are appreciated!

Amerasu: It is supposed to be a gladiator using a plow pulled by cows ...
instead of horse-and-carriage.
The cows expression show, that they KNOW they will win.
Hehe thanks for the reply though. Moved it to redo list *cries* ;)

Some fantastically funny stuff here guys :D
I read it as a vehicle dsg... Even if I saw the funny side, I were a bit borish and decided to do some work on my vehicle skills (oh boy, do I need it too!). One sketchbook page...

Silentbrain - I like that design :D
Oregano - I agree with U, the locomotive plow was the fisrst thing in my head too :)
