In no particular order. Well, maybe.
Anything in color was done in painter. the rest was done w/ pencil, either mechanical (hb) or wood (hb).

Hey Mike, thanks for the input there. I hadn't thought of that.
I usually work on the color backgrounds when I'm working in Painter. Otherwise with my pencils it's always on white paper.
I like using the color because it breaks the monotony of the white background and I tend to look at and approach subjects differently. But I see what you mean.
Cheers, guy.

Hey Famboozled & Bretton - glad you like the stuff.
here's something for today - started it last night. Sketch is graphite (H, HB, 4B), painting is Painter 8. Whole thing is about 7x7 inches @ 300 dpi. Total time was probably about 8-10 hours, maybe. I wasn't counting.

Xeno-Evolution.
This is part of an concept experiement I did where the goal was to "evolve" an alien life form of some sort. The idea behind this was to start with a single "cell" (#1) and then progress it into some sort of physical animal. Evolutionary oddities that developed in one stage had to be carried over to the next, although they could be modified in a manner consistant with the development of the animal. In doing this I started without any preconcieved notions of what the end result would be. I just let my mind wander.
Once I was done "evolving" the creature, I then named it and provided some data about it.

Hey folks, it occured to me to leave a note here that I've stopped updating this particular book and am now putting my sketches here: New Sketchbook (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=21162). I plan on pushing the new one as far as I can.
Cheers,
~Oreg.
