Good start. I love interesting fruit paintings.
Something about the "arm" peel doesnt work perfectly but its pretty close. I dont know all of the project details, but I think the format might need a bit of adjustment, its very centered. I love your concept though. And the execution on the orange is impressive. I think what might be buggin me about the arm is the background. The blue seems a bit harsh.
Ok I know that probably sounded real critical, but I love this. Good work. Its the best concepts when someone can take something that is usually mundane and actually make it into an interesting image. You have done that here. Power to the OJ!

Good job! GREAT work on rendering the textures (orange rind and peeled orange)
It's so refreshing to see something that's *not* a woman or a robot here!
Thoughts:
1. Why is the "hand" green? Maybe it should be orange.
2. I'd like to see the orange-peel texture applied to the whole arm, and not just the hand part.
3. I agree with Southwick- the background blue/purple is conflicting with the foreground color. If I were you, I'd make the background a flat black.
There was a whole group of artists (called the "Plakatstil") in Germany in the early 1900s who worked in a similar style to this. You might do well to look them up.
