well if this is one of your first then its pretty good. Yeah your doing a good job. i seriously doubt im actually that good either. Keep at it. If you just practice and practice like people say, you will eventually become good at it.

Nice job on the painting, toinjoints. It would be easier to make a comment regarding your abilities if you posted some of your own original attempts. That way we can better advise you on your strengths and weaknesses.

thats pretty sweet. i think most artists start out by copying others...i think that is the easiest way to learn in the beginning. you can learn a lot about composition, color, and technique by copying the masters. just keep at it and its never too late to become an artist.

Wow. I think you've PLENTY of potential. Too late?! Man, your 28! Ask yourself this: Do you want to spend the next 50 years of your life doing something else besides art for a job? If the answer is "no", go and be an artist.

yeah, you've got potential. And it is never ever too late. I've been in art schools with people from 18 years old, to 40 years old, seriously. Age has nothing to do with art. If it's what you want to do, then do what it takes. My 60 year old neighbor just decided to take up painting. He's never touched a brush in his life, so yeah. Go to it! Go forth, be fruitful and draw/paint!! Peace

one of my favorite watercolorists (Arne Westerman) didnt pick up a tube of watercolor until he was 50, which means, its never too late.. Sure im only 20, and im 3 years into art school, but really before i started i didnt know anything about that stuff you dont know about either.. hell i didnt even know who frazetta was! Also, like daarken said, copying the masters is a good way to learn.. it helps more once you've learned how difficult it is to do what they do.. dont be afraid to learn as much as you can.. this site is a tremendous resource, and i only wish i knew about it sooner...

Go for it man! I'm 28 too, and just now am getting paid to draw. Even though I've been drawing all my life, I never had formal training, because I was brought up believing that it was a hobby and that you couldn't make a career out of it. So I was stuck in some crap factory busting my back for peanuts, until finally my GF (now my wife) told to go to school and make a passion out of it.
You have great poential man, grab the bull by the horns and enjoy the ride!
