anyone else do this?

Ive always had a problem of just drawing line art with my wacom.
just to slippery of a surface for me.

Then one day a friend of mine had me put a pice of paper over it..tape it down..and draw...That was pretty damn simplistic and effective.
I still like paper and pencil
but this helped.
Caused a bit of friction and made me feel a bit more in control.

Anyone else ever done that?
Or was i just out of the loop compleatly with that trick?

and as a second question.
Anyone done anything else to get effects they want with their wacom.

Sometimes when drawing on paper i miss the slippery feeling of my wacom, so i fix my wacom with tapes on the paper...and there it is...i have the same great feeling now when drawing on paper...

...er....forget it...

Painter's Pencil is darn good for line work.

Ask Dan Milligan.

lol fozzy

i'm the same kind of guy. the wacoms surface is just too slick and i'm way better with a paper attached to it.
my line arts otherwise look like if i had the same problem like michael j. fox (sry, don't know the correct medical therm for that illness) ;)

Dude photoshop is a fantastic program, its diffrent yes, but you can still do practicly anything with it.

Photoshop is just as strong as Painter...except for the fact that you can't rotate the canvas as fast. Photoshop also is a better tool for doing quick color adjustments/studies and great for drawing quick straight lines when doing line-art.

Hell, if I wanted my paint to react like "real " paint I wouldn't use the computer anyhow.

Otis...
My thoughts are this.
Photoshop in its way is more of its OWN medium than Painter.
Painters purpos is to copy realistic mediums.
Photoshop never even started out as a painting program..so you had to make it work that way.
Phtoshop is a Photo Editing program that we have manipulated into a medium of its own in Illustration.

BUT...Painter is damn cool..just so hard to figure out.
