About a month ago I installed Windows 7 home premium which wiped my computer. Before that I had the beta version of windows seven ultimate and I had my intuos 4 driver installed on it. No problems the driver worked like a dream, but now the driver just won't take with the new system. I haven't had any problems installing other drivers.

I go throgh the steps until it tells me the driver is installed. But the pen still won't work. When I click on the Wacom Tablet properties in the start menu it comes up with and error message saying "The tablet driver was not found".
Restarting doesn't fix the problem.

I don't know if it matters but my computer is custom built.

Has anyone else run into this problem and does anyone know how to fix it? I going through dts for digital painting.

Perhaps you need to install it as an administrator and let the driver run under administrative privs?

Did you update the driver itself?
Last version (as of mid-March) posted on wacom europe website was really broken, I'm on Vista and I've run into exactly the same problem you're describing,
people on the support forum were shitting flames too.

Thanks for the advice. I tried both suggestions (getting the older version, and installing as an administrator) but still no dice. It knows the pen is touching the surface because the light gets a little brighter. But it won't even function like a mouse.
I'll email the help section.
Thanks all the same.

Go to Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Services:

Go to "Tablet PC Input Service"and select "stop the service"
them go to the "tablet Service Wacom">>right click>>properties...under Startup time select "Automatic (delayed start)">>apply and them restart this service...

You should be good to go...at least it worked for me.

cheers!
