Regards all,

The ellipses on this design seem strange. The farther ellipse seems to be at a diferent angle than the closer one. The object is at an extreme angle. The minor axes on both ellipses go to the same vanishing point and if you draw in the major axes I believe they are right... so I am not sure why the ellipse in the back looks odd...

Any ideas? Are my measures off?
Paintover anyone ? : )

Ok i'm not a perspective guru but I think this might help..

(1) The bottom of the ellipse goes under the line you traced. You should move it a bit above, to match it with (2).

(3) Upper border of the ellipse is much higher. Lower it :)

(4) You should match the intersection of the (our) left tube and the ship iself with our right one.

(5) Make the space just after the lens bigger..

(1) & (3) should make the ellipse look better, and (4) & (5) should correct the obvious symmetry problem :) hope this helps..

Drumwhore,

Thanks so much for the paintover it totally clarified the issues as well as point out some unintentional assymetry : )
! It was one of those situations I was looking at it so long and I had in my mind what I wanted to see I couldnt see what was there : )

Thanks again!
