Copy from a chinese portrait I did in class. Unfortunately the original is too large to scan, here is a detail.

Nice work. You have a good sense of facial anatomy, good contrast too. Some folks are probably going to tell you to add a background, which for some drawings is a must but not for this one. I see too many students ruin their portrait/figure work with unneeded backgrounds or fills, especially in graphite pieces. Unless you have a specific idea for a background that will work, supported with preliminary studies of the composition, there is no reason to add a background to this.

Thanks Cloxboy! Im glad you like it. I wish I could have included the whole piece, maybe I will get a slide by the end of the quarter.

I agree about backgrounds. I prefer the French Academic style of implying background elements with a few lines or a quick tone (if anything at all). Uaually my focus is on the figure itself and all too often a poorly planned background simply competes with the center of interest.
