I didn't know where else to put this so I'll post it here.
I just found this interesting little app that combines a very nice perspective painting toolset with some of the elements of Painter or Photoshop to create a very nice program for environment painting.

He definitely needs to get some better art up in those videos... but this seems like something that is perfect for concept art.
Best,
Jason.

Just what we need another tool that does the thinking for artists so they don't have to learn things like drawing and perspective "cause you know it so hard and I really want to be an artist even though I can't actually draw or or paint or anything"

Heh, I been there too... but griping about it won't change anything -- the world is changing. It's now much more important to have good computer skills than it is to have good perspective skills, you still need skill, it just is now in a different area.
My personal gripe was color mixing skills -- real world pigments don't mix by the same rules as "pure" color does in the computer so those skills I have don't mean much in the computer... still, adapt or die.
Best,
Jason.

Judging from the artists on this forum, cghub, cgtalk and deviant I'd say you're wrong. Having learned the fundamentals will always make you a better artist than one that doesnt. No computer magic can make up for that.
On the App; Seems intresting :) I'll give it a try ! thanks for the tip

why do people forget we can have it all rather than one replacing another. Figure painting did not die when Photography was invented.

Looks like it would be fun to try! :)
As someone who sucks at environment creation, it sure tempts me. But I'd feel less impressed with myself not really understanding what I'm doing in that program. Eh well...
