Great painting, the last one. The way you have painted it looks really free, not much details or highly rendered shadows, just nice strokes. The guy with the tube in his hand looks good as well, but maybe some study of a chest structure might help. To me it seems like if the upper body was just a cylinder and all the muscles were wrapped around without its specific shape. Anyway great digital paintings again, thats something I have to learn :). You've got some pretty tight pics in here man, nice work. One thing: in those charicature i wouldn't draw that skinny neck,bettter to draw no neck at all. Still, keep up the good work!

Man your black and white is sweeet - such good contrast between tonal values and tone representing colour! Love those cast studies at the top of this page, really great works there where youve got that lovely brush work coming through. Its totally worth trying to keep some of those brush strokes and textures, it looks real fresh.

I like your rendering technique and line quality.

hey, great sketchbook! Kicking ass with the pace you've set for yourself to update. Great studies, only advice I can give is on the faces. I think doing some self portraits in black and white values will really help you with your faces. When you paint a self portrait you will notice your mistakes more clearly and will get used to correcting it. Studies of skulls will help alot too!

Good stuff man. One thing I noticed though is that you tend to crop the heads a bit. The eyes should be approximately in the middle of the skull. Keep it up!

That bluish/greenish combination with dark is a great recipe. The old man's face and the warrior in the woods is awesome. Watch the figure of the warrior on the horse, his body position , maybe the head versus torso is really unnatural. Maybe a gesture practice would help.

hey nice work love your face sketches i really like your use of highlights i love your painting of the rider in the woods but i think you could make the composition stronger by making one side longer than the other so the rider is not directly in the middle maybe extend the right side of the painting

Nice studies, but make sure to keep doing some stuff from imagination to apply what you learned.

On the last picture, the skin looks a bit too smooth, try to add some texture to it when rendering skin.

Hi Lal, some great updates since I was here last. Portraits are super, maybe do of them with color, values are very solid. Also I like the new enviros. And good to see some figure and anatomy studies, do lots more of those, maybe try Bridgman. I think your own characters will get better when you know more anatomy.

O ho ho! That last digital character really stands out.
However i see, that you still have problems with traditional sketches, it may sound obvious but try to search for different styles of drawing and try them. Find out which one suits you best, that will improve your drawing skill instantly, why? because you'll be doing it the way you like. I've seen many people forcing themselves to try and draw like Loomis, or Bridgman did, in my honest opinion it's more important to find your own, which you feel comfortable with.

I also recommend: Force, drawing for animation or something like that, a great book, be sure to check it out.
