I'm redoing an old image:

This is what I have so far. C&C very much appreciated.
I guess it is boring!? I thought about adding a small, framed painting on the wall ...
what do you guys think?

Made some changes ... does it look better with or without the painting?

The desklight looks sorta like the end of a gun. Hehe, a cool looking gun :) . Its looking good though.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure I understand what you mean.
Like in a first person shooter?
It would be better if the ground between viewer and lamp was visible?
Not sure if I can fix it. I'll think about it and probably try stuff.
Thanks again.
Tried something with the painting. Not sure if I should keep it.
I guess it is too much of a cliché!?

maybe (just maybe) there should be a mirror on the wall which only the corner is to be seen(and of course the desklight is reflecting from it). some interesting light and shadow effects may occur.
i don't know, just an idea; maybe this is somewhat cliche too!?...
i liked the teddy-bear-dart-board idea:D

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I guess that would be an interesting effect.
And not a cliché at all ... maybe if it was a photograph.
But I can't do something like that properly ;)
Somebody else said that another light source might help with making the desk lamp deal clearer.
Guess a reflection would help too. Good thinking.
But it would also distract from the teddy dartboard.
And the title is "growing up" so that is the area of interest.
I think the painting might look like a mirror at first glance somehow.
Then you realize at 2nd glance that it doesn't make sense.
I changed the part where the lamp stands on the ground because of AnarchyAo2's reply.
Made it rounder a little.
And I cleaned some things up.
Got some replies that people like the painting on the wall like that.
I think I'll post that slightly tweaked, final version now in the "IT'S FINALLY FINISHED!!" forum.
Then I can start redoing the next image.
