This one is a 2 ft by 3.5 ft painting that represents anger... it is a part of a dipdic ... the other being a painting of a motherly figure ( I dont yet have documented yet ) reaching herself towards him.

I worked a little bit more on this piece... mainly cleaned it up some, I just haven't had an opportunity to document it

The piece reads pretty well and manages to convey anger. There are a few changes I might consider to make it stronger.

The brushstrokes come across as being heavily worked in the figure which tends to take away from the "energy" of a painting. I believe looser more emotional strokes would lend themselves to the theme of the painting and make it a bit more raw. I like the apparant strain on the figure, especially in the head and hand, but the middle section of the arm seems a bit out stiff and of place as if you used photo reference for the rest and free handed portions of the arm.

The light source is a bit strange on the elbow and the way that the bicep runs into the forearm is ambigious. Try getting a friend to pose and see exactly how the arm twists in this position. A little extra polish in this area could really bring the whole painting together.

I like the colors overall and there is some good use of reflected light. The head is getting a bit close to the side of the canvas but I don't know if this really affects anything too much. That's just nit picking really.

Anyway, nice work, I am on my way to check out yer site. This painting is a very clear depiction of anger, there is no second guessing what it means to show. Overall I think it's rather nice. I hope to see more of your stuff around the forums. until then, keep up with the painting, I'll be eagerly awaiting your next piece.

So cool! Conveys intensity very well with the tumultuous colour and brush strokes. I love how much colour you've managed to get into the jeans. I totally agree with SamusNeo about the elbow/forearm area. It's a tricky area, very shifty, literally. I think it would be worth fixing though, as it's the only thing holding the piece back in my opinion.

Keep posting!
