Hey all,
I've been admiring all the great work shown on these forums here for some time but never really had any of my own to contribute. I'm 16 years old and am pretty much teaching myself and so only now feel that i'm getting anywhere near a standard thats acceptable in these forums.
The first was a fairly spontaneous piece that i hadn't planned at all and was probably at the state you see below in about an hour and a half. It's still got some dirty pencil marks on it in places that I need to get rid of and I would like to have another go at the sword.

If clicking the above link doesnt work (which it probably won't) try dragging and dropping it to the address bar. Alternatively copy and paste the following:

http://free.hostdepartment.com/r/rankofengland/knighty.jpg

This next image was done on and off over a period of a few days and probably amounted to about 3 hours work with a lot of changing etc.

Once again if clicking on the above link or dragging and dropping doesnt work try copying and pasting:

If none of that works then i guess it's time i gave up!

C+C is greatly appreciated and please tear them apart as thats the only way im going to learn!
Thanks!
P.S: if i've posted this in the wrong place or anything I apologise!

EDIT: Apparently the pictures arent working? Sorry about that if somebody could help me out here it would be much appreciated.
EDIT#2: Added the URLs.. sorry about this.
EDIT#3: Me and anything remotely related to markup codes are no longer friends.

Hopefully some of the link type things in the first post will work now. Sorry for messing that up so bad! If anyones still interested then id still be interested in some feedback.

If people still can't see them then I think I might be forced to admit defeat and lurk for a little longer!

Thanks.

Yay!
Copying and pasting the link worked!
Nice line work. I liek the details you have created to show the folds and textures of the cloth and chain mail. You may want to consider using a line with some weight variation along the outsides of the figure though, to show the depth of the running.
Over all a very nice piece, are you going to color next? I'd like to see more of your work. You're doing pretty darn well for teaching yourself. Don't forget to check out the round tables and tutorials on here too, they could be a great resource for you!

Hey,
Thanks for the reply :).
Although i've pretty much always added pen to any pencil drawings i've done i've neer really experimented with line widths or different types of line at all so that's definately something to look into!
I may go back and colour the second image but i'm not sure about it. The more i look at it the more it seems to me that something is wrong with it so I may just take whatever i've learned from it and make a different piece, hopefullt experimenting with different lines too.
I'll look into those tutorials :).

Thanks again!
