Here's one I did over a year ago. It's done on 11x14 toned paper with graphite and white charcoal pencil. The scans came out kinda funny. It looks better at a smaller scale but I also put up a larger one for detail. c&c always welcome.

I like it. The candle was kinda hard to read until I saw the larger version. At first I thought it was a metal bracelet that was just picking up a lot of light. Beyond that I dig it though.

Are those blue's there on the original, or is that just a gray getting tweaked by the scan? And about how long does a piece like this take?

I hope my beginning life drawing gets into some of this longer, multi toned drawing. I've always wanted to try it.

thanx for the feedback fukifino. Uh, as far as the time, I honestly couldn't tell ya. Same goes for any of my peices, I have the worst concept of time, that's probably why they never get done on time. No there are no blues, that's actually the white of the charcoal and the black of the graphite mixing to make grey. It just looks kinda blue here. It wasn't intentional to mix them, I try not to if I can help it. But doing drawings on toned paper is really a blast. You gotta try it.

I was skimming threw my website (which I won't be able to update now since my old hard drive is royally screwed) and I passed this drawing which was done around the same time as the first image. This one was actually drawn from life, just an excuse to get to see the girl I was seeing while I was doin my homework. I never got to "finish" it, but I like what I got done. Unfortunately the lighting isn't that flattering in this case :D but whadduya gonna do. Enjoy, and let me know what you think.
