I'm working on a self assigned project for class (conceptual design for a video game) and I'm coming up with a resident evil style game about monster bounty hunters. Sorry couldn't come up with a cooler word to describe them than monsters :D This is what I've got so far, let me know what you think. This is my first real stab at straight conceptual design.

I think it would help a lot if you made the legs more massive to hold up the upper body. I think it's a good concept. I sure wouldn't want him hunting me!

i agree the legs are too thin; also maybe you should add claws at the feet (or make them more easily seen if there are some:D )
the upper part is very "bad" looking:D especially the face; very good work, i appreciated it a lot...

cool.
They are looking good.
now that you have an idea about the type of characters you are after. Go get some reference and inspiration in order to take the designs to the next level.
It is going to be the little things that make or break a good design.
One other thing to think about is silloute.
especially in game work, a character needs to read even when it is small on screen. go for the quick read.
good work so far.

I think it looks really good. That first monster reminds me of something though. Can't put my finger on it though. It's got something to do with that let't-get-the-hell-outa-here mouth!
Look forward to seeing some updates.

Although I've been working for years trying to make my figure work as strong as possible (which isn't that strong afterall :( ) but environments is something I've been neglecting the entire time. The worst part is that I also knew I was neglecting it the entire time. So here is my first real stab at it. I'm sure it's lacking in a million areas, so if you could PLEASE point them out, I'd be eternally greatful. Any suggestions would be great. I call this house "Monster Manner". I decided as kinda a backstory, that the locals (not that there are many) had come up with that name. The only people who decide to test the rumors of what goes on there are dumb and usually drunk teens who see it as an opportunity to scare the hell out of their girlfriends and then try to look tough about it in front of them. Anyway, enjoy.
Here are two version with subtle differences in lighting and atmosphere. This was also an excuse to make myself more familiar with painter and different techniques.

Heyyyyyyy,
Here are the "finished" pieces. I'm kinda happy with them. I learned a lot about the brushes in painter 8 as well as other wierd techniques. Still getting the hang of it though. I'm SURE that these could use more work in a lot of ways, so if you see anything let me know. Any crits at all would be really helpful. Thanx... Enjoy!!!!

Very nice creature and character designs! For your manor picture, did you color it all on the computer or did you actually use paints? Im new to this stuff, keep drawing -peace

As you have mentioned, these designs and story concept all seem to be very influenced and similar to the video game by Capcom, "Resident Evil" especially the mansion, zombie dog, and the clothing design.
I am a hardcore fan of the game too and I can see you are very inspired from the game "Resident Evil", but if I were you, I would try to stretch myself away from that game as much as possible. try to be more creative...
I do like your stylization of your character concepts. it looks pretty unique and it would fit better on a different genre of game rather than a survival- horror game like resident evil.
