Ciao,

I was wondering what AAA and the FAA look for in a portfolio submission? I am worried that my work isn't strong enough, as I only started taking drawing classes last year & I don't know how to paint. Below is the set of images I intend on sending.

Bill, 2010, Charcoal on paper, 44” x 30” (111.8 cm x 76.2 cm)

Snow White, 2009, Graphite and colored pencil on paper, 5’ x 3’ (152.4 cm x 91.4 cm)

Any advice would be very much appreciated. I am also very interested in hearing from people who have attended/are attending either Academy as well.

Grazie, cari!

Hiya :)

As a student of Angel Academy of Art, I can tell you that so far the school has pretty much always had sufficient space for all applicants - it's not like you're competing with hundreds of other students :) That may change over time as the school becomes more well-known; if there are more applicants than available places, they'll have to start getting picky. But right now afaik they aren't, so don't stress too much about the portfolio - just some of your best work, figurative work, etc.
