I have written a science fiction/action script entitled UNIVERSAL FIGHTING LEAGUE, which I am working on creating an information package for pitching the project to interested producers.

The story takes place in a future where alien societies have integrated into our own. It's a universe similar to STAR WARS, where it's own political and social hierarchies, and it's own form of entertainment - the most popular being the Universal Fighting League. Like the modern day Ultimate Fighting Championships, these fights have teams of 2 fighters facing off against opponents of different alien species for the title of Universal Fighting Champion.

I would like to have a few pieces of concept art created for the information package, to give producers a visual sense of the film and it's character creations.

At this time, because of limited funds, I would like to commission 3 pieces of fully inked and colored art - 1 a character design, and two of scenes from the screenplay.

I am able to pay $60 per piece upon completion. I will send a contract to be signed before hand. At this time, the art will ONLY be used for pitching the project.

If interested, please send a resume and link to your work to UniversalFightingLeague@gmail.com. If I like your work, I will contact you and ask for a sample piece created to see if we work well together. If this goes well, I will send you descriptions of the 3 pieces of art to be created.

Any questions can also be directed to the email above. Many thanks!

I thought I would just let you know that, $60.00 US is very low for what your asking. You may run into trouble commissioning an artist :(

Given the small size of contract I would also advise taking out the sample piece requirement, given that at this scale of project it would be equivalent to asking for four for the price of three. If you like an artists portfolio, work with them.

Your request for a sample piece given your budget is hardly enough to get anyone interested. You might get amateur art. If you are looking for
pro art, visit.

Just because its a low price doesnt necassarily mean that it will attract someone who the Art Mafia on here dont consider to be a 'Pro'. There is a global recession on, which seems to have escaped some of the artists hereabout. I make a living through my art and i have accepted these kinds of commissions recently- bills need to be paid after all. You may even get a, young talented artist taking the commission for you. They may even be better than some of the more established talent... you never know.

Russell, before coming down on the people who have posted before you, consider that the topic went without a post for around 40 days. The fish in this case did not appear to be biting and a few people suggested ways to alter the pitch that might get more interest. Labelling people who may be trying to be genuinely helpful as 'art mafia' is a little silly as is the global recession lecture don't you think . At least the posting on the topic has generated some interest now,so hopefully the guy will get who he needs.
