Hey all...I modeled this in max 5, textures painted with photoshop....It's loosly based off of the Great Mosque of Cordoba in Spain. After I finished it I realized some issues...like repitition in the textures, the grout, and cracks are too dark, and my lighting needs work. If any one has any crits or comments it'd be much appriciated...

cool work, but your lighting isn't showing off your work.
2nd thing, if this is for something like a game, then add something to the floor, since the camera is almost always looking down in an enviroment like this. if it isn't for a game, then, kick ass, you gave us an impression of some awesome architecture.
make it yours, and show us what you see it being used for.

I like the design, and I also personally am fine with the lighting. I think it sets a nice mood to the architecture =)

Thanks for the crits and comments guys....Lighting is something I'm really struggleing with...in a game sense..how do you keep a sense of mood and artistic style while still retaining functionality...I did this piece for a class...but since I don't have anysort of engine to plug it into I guess it's a game env in theory only.
The floor...and all floors I make....all suffer from the same problem....they are always an after thought...so they look bare. I gotta work on that.
Thanks for the comments again guys...much appriciated.

this looks great. Yes, I would work on the texture variation and all I would change about the lighting is make the further one's out have less attenuation. Other than that, very nice environment.

Can we see a wireframe of the scene?
I've always wanted to do something like this in max but was never really sure on how to approach it.
Looks cool.
