Yo. Learner here, looking for pointers.

My references are:

1. Gottfried Bammes: Wir Zeichnen Den Menschen(...I don't understand jack about German... I just look at the drawings)
2. Some pages off About.com
3. Anymore things around me I think I'd draw

I'm starting my sketchbook really small. Last night I did a lot, but only these three survived the dumpster...

Open fire, folks!

Nice tonal values, I was just wondering, why is there a square on the face?

Because the square's a mirror...

Nah. I use squares to help me with the perspective of the face. Regardless of the fact of whether or not it worked for me, that's how I'm told to do it.

Great work on blocking the body out with primitive shapes.

The plane concept is a good one. It makes sure you keep your facial proportions in check, dividing it down the middle to find the nose line, dividing it in half to find the eye line etc...

Keep up the posting so we can see your progress!

I like those fugures under cube and sphere - they look very dinamical and well proportioned.
Wait to see more :)

More scribbles I did the past few days. Several times I fell into frustration that you can see the results at the end...

I wish I don't have to use paper, but a decent tablet is shit expensive and I have barely enough to feed myself after excluding the bills and loan paybacks. A Cintiq is even much more so. WHAT'S SO EXPENSIVE ABOUT THEM ANYWAY!? FUCK YOU, WACOM!!
