hi, I'm jean and I like to paint digitally in photoshop. I had an early interest in digital painting and started when I was 11, but now I'm attending the Minneapolis College of Art and Design for a drawing/painting degree but my school doesn't teach digital painting so in order to improve on my skills, I hope to do a painting a day to improve.

Nice start! Are these done from life? They look good. How about setting up still life and doing a study? I think it'll really help you improve quickly :)

thank you, they're done from references. I have a dual screen set up so I have one image to reference while I'm working. I work from set ups when I do oil paintings for my class. Actually probably most my classes will be from working from set ups so I don't actually get a lot of time to digitally paint unless I'm outside of class =o

Nice. keep at it. There are plenty of threads around here on digital painting. Crimsondaggers.com(the live stream) is also very helpful.

it's hard to keep focusing on one painting, i usually would have already started a new one by now

hm i don't know, i took out the background, I think I'll look up some more reference photos for the hair.

I think in the background the edge of the door is too close to the edge of her hair creating a tangent.

Yeah I know, its kinda hard to 'finish' a piece but once you complete one, it becomes easier to finish the next ones.

I've been taking a figure drawing class =) I said I'd update, but school is keeping me very busy.

not from observation, I really admire those who can make things up on scratch so I wanted to see how good I could do it since taking figure drawing class.

schools ending and I'll have a 3 weekish break to practice some more. I honestly was having a hard time in figure drawing class. Everyone had something to say about digital painting as a medium and didn't give me a good critique about the work itself. too much too explain, I'm just tired =)
