Well here we go. I'm 18 years old and am starting my freshman year in college, double majoring in Studio Art and Japanese. I have finally gotten a scanner so now seems like ass good a time as any to start putting some of my things online. These are from my older sketchbook, from last year, but I will be putting up some new things soon. Keep in mind these were all from imagination so some things like the faces are especially rough.

Please let me know what you think; I would really appreciate any feedback.

The figures are quite decent, though they seemed to be a bit too subdued to my liking. A little exaggeration with the posture of the figure will make the action appear more dynamic and appealing. You are on the right track, though. Keep at it!

Thanks for the critique UnstableProtagonist :). I agree with you, looking at these with fresh eyes, they do come off as a bit static. Well, that's what practice is for. Off to do more Bridgman studies!

I say that you are off to a great start; just keep at it for a while.

I think your proportions are pretty good! Try making basic shapes, they really help you break down the figure even more! Also try drawing what's underneath the skin, like the skeleton and the muscle structure, that will really help you get a better general understanding :)

Thanks guys.

Viki- You're definitely right about drawing what's underneath to help. I need to work on getting a better grasp on anatomy.
