Artist wanted for graphic novel
THE WORK: Concept art / illustration for a graphic novel. Graphic novels are about collaboration between the writer(s) and the artist(s), so I am looking for a creative spirit who is not a afraid to bring ideas, advice, and novelty to the table.
FORMAT: I am considering three possible formats: (a) traditional ink and color comic style illustration; (b) all digital illustration of key scenes in 16:9 ratio - think screen shots from a film that would accompany a novella narrated by a reader; (c) or hybrid format with full page illustrations dispersed between the comic pages. 50 to 100 pages.
STYLE: Lean forms, perspective manipulation is key, dark colors. I almost wouldn't mind a speed-painting look to the entire thing (e.g. barontieri)
THE PROJECT: A science fiction story set a half century in the future where a clandestine cyborg crime syndicate is wreaking havoc. Artist must have skills with human body, machines, and cityscapes.
REQUIREMENTS: Digital media transmitted back and forth between artist and writer. Email and phone collaboration. Artist will work remotely.
COMPENSATION: Budget is open still. Freelance comp to be negotiated based whether you want work on page by page basis or lump sum for fixed number of pages. Our company will own all digital rights to the work. But, we are open to profit sharing as a form of compensation should the GN get picked up by a publisher or optioned by a studio. Please submit a bio, your rates, and most importantly a link to your portfolio.
DEADLINE: Nope.
