I did this painting a little differently then normal. Perhaps the color was a bit too ambitious?

Crits & comments welcome.

Thanks!

Well done hermano :D

Me not sure about this colour scheme -It does not help the concept . also you had to give some more time to shading and shadowing
Proportions and perspective are fine - something wrong with the lighting- too many light sources ...maybe.

I prefer the thumbnails .. and the pencil sketches are excellent .

I feel like this is an excellent concept, and your sketches for it are lovely...it just needs some reworking and refining in the final execution.

i like the design and the composition, but there are too many different colors pulling my eyes around, i think having the sun coming over the top is redundant with the torch goving off light from the same side.
i think if you dropped the sun, and made the sky darker, you would get the full mood setting effect of the torch and the creepy gate.

i hope you tweek this, would love to see a rework of it!

king, DanSTC, Skank -
Thanks for the compliment on the design.
Maybe if I have time tonight, after work, I'll do a repaint. My buddy just broke up with his gf, so I might have my hands tied.

Ugh! Color is my biggest weakness right now. It's like 50/50. Sometimes I nail it,
sometimes I don't. I need help.

I'll scream it....
Manley, help!
Hopefully I can learn something if the workshop happens

Ironically, at my full time job I color correct visual effects shots for feature films. Plus the photography..........

I'll have to get myself to do daily color studies. I have to finish my portfolio by E3 (May) or all is lost.

Thanks,

Phil
