I'm not sure what to do next with this guy... I suck at coloring (if you are an awesome color'er, go ahead and take a crack at it :D). Maybe I could put a body on him.. any suggestions?

I suggest that you ink it and colour it in a simple comic book style. Why you ask? Because you said that you suck at colouring - and practise is the only way to get better.

So stop whinging and get colouring - NOW!

You will be alright for coloring it, as long as you remember to keep the same colors for shading and highlighting. Just go with lighter tones (of your color choice, in the area you're working in) for highlighting and darker tones for shading. For example, the eyes could have several different tones of very light yellow. Depending if they are in light or shadow. Too get a 3D appearance to them, you would use graduating tones of greyish (light) yellow around the edges, going to a very light yellow to the highlighted area around the pupil. The highlighted area, being so light of a yellow it looks almost white. Play around with it, you'll get it. One wonderful thing about digital painting is the undo button.

I colored the guy in Photoshop (my first time coloring in photoshop), so please tell me how I did. Hopefully I can have the courage to continue experimenting with color.

Hah, I knew you could do it! It looks great! Try putting a very dark tone of his mouth color, (almost black) around the back of his tongue, so he has a throat. And use black right behind the tongue. I look forward to seeing more of your colored work showing up on here now.:D

No problem m0rph. You might want to add a little of the same color you use for the throat for the center of the nose cavity while you're at it. It will give that area more depth. Do some experimenting with color and have fun with it. :)
