SDCC 2010?

I was looking to the portfolio reviews at SDCC of this year as the kickoff to my next real job search. I just checked their registration page and, 5 months before hand, the 4 day passes along with Friday and Saturday day-passes are sold out. People love their comic books.

I'm wondering if anyone has past experience with being able to find passes on E-bay or something. I wonder if it would make sense to buy passes for Thursday and Sunday and scalp for Friday and Saturday.

Also, I wonder how much of a nightmare it is to find a room in San Diego for that weekend... should I start lining up 2011.... 2012?

CTN-X looks to be more animation oriented and doesn't register until April. Maybe I'll get my ducks in a row and shoot for that.

sold out allready. Last year I went on a thursday and I couldn't talk to one single editor. They usually show up on saturdays in my experience. I'll see if I can sign up for 2011.

If your not familiar with the area and are looking for a room research motels along the trolley (http://www.sdmts.com/Trolley/Trolley.asp) routs. I'm sure everything in the Gaslamp district is going to want an unreasonable amount of money.

I went last year with a friend. He bought the tickets and the room around Christmas of '08 for my birthday. Our hotel wasn't far from a trolley stop that was a few stops away from the Convention center.
