Designs for a feature film that should probably be put in this galleray as opposed to Sketches and Doodles. Painter 8 and Photoshop CS and about 3 hours (each) of my life. Please tell me what you think. Thanks

1 crit tho, all the dubble black outlines gives me a feeling of looking through "beer goggles", you know, like you're drunk seeing 2 of everything.. first 2 anyways

Interesting. Amazing what you don't see when you're looking at your own stuff. I appreciate that very much. I'll put up more as it comes. I'd appreciate more of that kind of feedback if you don't mind.
Thanks!

Hi, nice designs! I love the amount of detail you get, even though the details remain non specific, they feel like real places. The color in the top interior is really nice, very warm.
The exterior waterfront seems to lack the lighting specificity of the top though, it's a tiny bit grey in comparison.
What kind of research/ reference work do you do before you work? I'm so curious. These look really nice.

Thanks for your comments. I ususally don't do too much research, because it usually turns into just a stall tactic for me anyway. I like architecture more than any part of the illustration, so to mess too much with the furnishings and knick-knacks on the shelves is a waste of time for me -- just enough to get the idea across.
I would like your comments on this one as well if you would. I know I must adjust the cool exterior lighting to the warmth of the interior, but anyway...http://mainline.no-ip.com/uploads/Steed-Cabinposter.jpg

I think these serve their purpose. As mentioned before, the double outline does make it a little shakey. I think it would have been cool if the lighting in the first one was lit according to the really bright lamp on the table. That light is bright its the first thing I look at. There hardly isn't any light source at all in the second pic, and if you added some dramatic lighting I think that would help set the mood for the type of movie it is. But then again the idea is understood and like I said before, they serve the purpose of communicatin the idea that you're going after.
The last pic you posted is sketchier than the rest, which is fine, but I have to sort of sit there and look at everything trying to move my eyes through the space.
Overall these are good pieces, but I suggest tightening them up a bit. Maybe not these, but the next batch you do. Find a focal point in your comp.
hope I helped!
