And here are some others, too. Thanks. Painter 8 and Photoshop CS. Each is about 2-4 hours of work.

Ah, nice and moody. Looks like the 'The Admiral Benbow' from Treasure Island.

Holy cow -- sorry everyone I'm new at this. That last one needed about three monitors to see the whole thing. Here it is resized...

Ahh lens flares, minor but I think they distract from the images, looks kinda like fireflies inside the lanterns, maybe just white or some other color would be better. Did you use lens flares for time reasons? Other wise the perspective is great and very moody, I do like them. What is the movie? Any more images?

You're exacxtly right. I get no kudos for "artful". Time is everything.

Some more information regarding the setting for the film: 1830's upstate New York, specifically the Erie Canal area. The top illustration is of a Missouri saloon. I would like to be able to finish them to a higher degree, but it is not possible given the time constraints.

John this could just be me, but the lighting in the first post seems to be with lens flares, in all of the lamps their is no ambient light which would cast a much more dramatic shadow on the environment in my opinion.
I love the textural quality of everything though.
Nice work
