This isnt a god as such but it is related with egyption mythology. Please give me some hints on how i could improve this.

Bast is the Egyptian Goddess and protector of cats, women and children. She is Goddess of sunrise. Her goddess duty changed over the years, but, she is also known as a goddess of love, fertility, birth, music and dance.

Hello
I were at a "meeting" had sneaked at the topic but had no refs or real knowledge of egypt gods, so I faked it - something about a crocodile guy/stargate crossover :D
Mr man - I guess I did the same guy?
Kirt - thats sweet:)
Sabre - I get the stargate feel inn this one
Signature - has she stamped that frog to death? ;)
pen, ballpoint, ink, about 1.5 hours (I dunno exactly, it was 2 large coffes worth o time ;) )

kirt: and i almost feared, its abnormal to think cats are somehow sexy... :cat;
mr man: the idea of a human-aligator is good, but the elephant-feet doesnt fit. perhaps you should also lower the head - he looks very violative with that exposed throat...
and you can post a bit bigger pics.
saber: fav so far, although theres no big choice ;)
johannes. impressive! but the eye is a bit lost in all that ... things on his nose.
byhand-sketch, coloradjusted in PS. i think, i will color that one later.
Feedback please :)

(took me about half an hour in photoshop)
http://web703.athen023.server4free.de/digi/seth.jpg
davi: I like the rendering of -whatever it is- leeches, snakes, eggs?
sabre: The picture is good, even if I think glowing eyes with flashes comming out of them shouldn't be part of egyptian gods -not that I have seen any gods in real life so that I could tell you how the look like. So its just my personal opinion.
Kirt: Wow, i really love this picture.

I thought i would try and do a neater pic, i might shade it in later. Its a pity the edges look jagged from the camera. You wouldnt believe how long it took me to colour in that bit of the eye.(it wasnt with a felt pen)

Kirt:: Thats the pic that inspired me to start again lol.
Johannes:: Great detail, althought it looks more greek than egyption. Still fantastic tho.
SABRE:: Nice effects of light there.

Im glad you noticed that the head was a croc anyway LOL and those legs dont do it any favors. :D

scumworks: his back is really felicitous. why not show his front now? ;)
davi: admit, the whole trick is not to say anything about your pic ;) the reed is... wow. not to mention that burl-thing.
kartoffel: i like it! i only miss his mouth. it somehow looks irritating under his beak...
detonum: good concept. i like the head - but the changeover from human body to bird-neck is a bit abrupt. looks, as if he wears a mask (or is that intention?)
kaptah: how many did coca cola pay? and i even think, that is a marlboro there in his mouth ;)
No, that one is really great. Great idea, too. and the lightning! New favourite :)
tharmine: cool pic. but a bit too bright imo. try to adjust the contrast or the brightness.
Is that bg also by you?

it was about 30 minutes. the god is Sobek(man with crocodile head). The slug/worm/leechs were just something i thought up out of the blue to make the location look more interesting. Glad you enjoyed it. I might do alittle more on the body of Sobek, i kind of rushed it.

Hello everybody, great works people! I decided to do my sketch on "Osiris" Egyptian god of the underworld and of vegetation. He is holding his "crook and flail" and wearing atop his head a "atef". From what I have read he is known to be dressed as of a mummy, and normally has green skin hence "vegetation". I have definate foreshortening problems with both arms, but I had fun doing this.

So here is my DSG for today. Itīs Anat, an ancient egyptian goddess of War, Sex and Fertility. No nerve for digital painting today so just a coloured pencil-drawing:
http://www.kriegsherren-von-og.de/dsg/anat.jpg
Nice pictures overall. My personal favourite is kaptahsī god on break. But thereīs are some other good stuff around. Iīve got to say that I first thought Daviīs crocodile god was one of his dreaded penguins - now in egypt on a mission :D. HungerArtist as I told some time before youīre developing a very unique own style (what is imho a good thing!). Brettonīs for not liking egypt I like your piece very much - would make a good alien.

Matt Smith - good proportions, shading and musculature for the most part. Her head could use some work around the eyes though, and it's kind of small in general... it doesn't quite fit on her shoulders. There's also something strange going on where her hair falls on the snake as it comes out from behind her arm.
Freakt - There's something about your style that makes me want to keep looking at this picture. Can't put my finger on it. I'm interested in seeing your next one.

Had a lot of fun with this one. She is Taweret, the Goddess of childbirth.
"The Great One". Egyptian hippopotamus goddess and protective deity of childbirth. She was depicted with the head of a hippopotamus, the legs and arms of a lion, the tail of a crocodile, human breasts, and a swollen belly. This appearance was meant to frighten off any spirits that might be harmful to the child.

hey i'm new here, sorry if I upload this wrong. :p
anyway, this is My horus. Most gods are portrayed as magnificent and glorious. My dictation of this topic is that a god can be helpless and vulernable if he is no longer believed in. This here is a dying god, plain and clear.http://gallery.cybertarp.com/albums/userpics/10594/a%20fallen%20god.jpg
also i'm a little confused about the rules.... it says if there is sexual content or nudity you need to post just the link instead of posting the image with it. Obviously there is plenty of the nudity thing going on here - especially with that lioness goddess but they aren't linked that way. Mine also is not linked that way as I do not see how I should post the link if everyone else is not. Please clarify this rule.

Hermchen - woah!!! that is so beautiful... I cant stop staring at that ... the strokes are brilliant! :D :D
Davi - your junks is most pimpliscious! :Pimp: i'm digging the cross-hatching in your works... do you sketch pencil first then scan or do you just do it digital... ?
DigitalGannon - oooh i was really feelin the b/w version but that colored one is toooight!!!!
And to all you mackdaddies and mackmommas out there that drew anubis - high fives all around. Thats the coolest Egyptian god out there (no offense to those that follow the ancient egyptian religion)... All you guys did excellent jobs!
SABRE - ure first pic has an excellent atmosphere and "feel" but your second pic has a better character design. Wow!
Mr Man - lets see some shading!
Sara - that's sick! would look scarier if you threw in some claws!
sic8sic8 - thats the buffest anubis i've ever seen. I'm diggin the weathered papyrus drawing feel of it!
One more thing - I'm very happy with the amount of nakedness in the submissions today (especially the breasts)! Keep it up kids!! more BOOBS everyday!!!!! heheh sorry.
Here's my junks. I didnt have time to get too crazy with the colors and that stupid blue ball has no glow around it but I had no more time to work on this. Its tough fitting in time to draw when you got a super-busy day.... *passes out*

A damn good DSG, especially after alot of Thunderdome submissions...
About an hour using B pencils and clean up in PS.
http://www.shawnadomanis.com/dsg/dsg349.jpg
Kirt - Very nice and clean ink work. Good to see you back. Digital or traditional?
Sabre -
(1)Very sketchy, but you know, it works. The staff is neat.
(2)I like the second post too. I still like the first one better though.
Johannes - Very nice pencil and ink work. Legs look a little short though.
Davi - That worm-thing takes the prize... it's the offspring of the God.
kaptah - Very nice lighting on the, er, uh, God. Look what I got under my helmet...
tharmine - I love the background. What that painted or rendered by you? Your take on Isis is great too, but she looks very flat, especially with that light radiating from her hand. The neckthing looks like it has depth, but the stomach and dress do not.
Hermchen - So nice... no other words necessary.
Railboy - Wow. Creeepy. Looks like something out of Metroid.
brawkstake - This one took the cake man. So badass!!
Gumdrop - Eerie and gritty.
Bretton - I wish you would have finished. The scarab looks good.
Snowball - Osiris is cool. The hands look way too small though and his left arm looks too stiff and short, as the angle is off a bit.
Sara - Very nice first post. Welcome. I really like the blurriness of portions of the headress. Was that intentional?
Matt Smith - Sexy. Photo or girlfriend reference? Hahah.
Iotrez - Freaking, Alice in Wonderlandishly weird as usual... don't stop! I really like the shadows that fall on the sculpture.
Thrash - Very nice. The radial gradiation out from behind her head really adds to it.
sic8sic - If this piece was finished I would love it more. Really cool though, especially the "necktie".
Dahsramu - Kickass Witchblade-type hands.
trevor - That is very cool. How do you guys do this in 15 minutes!!! DAMN YOU ALL...
Wow! That was alot of handcramps.
