Been lurking for a while and really enjoy the sculpts and talent here. Just started dabbleing in sculpting recently, still trying to find my style, figure out what consistency of clay I like and how to use the tools. Heres a couple small heads Ive been playing with. The first is a "martian" head I done for my son, the second is supposed to be a "Gnome" from the book "Gnomes" (my mother wants a pair of Gnomes)

They look great! I personally feel the faces can be difficult, but you seem to have a pretty good grasp on it.

Yes I agree...faces are dificult. I struggle very badly with the eyes and ears. I need to refine the eyes on the "gnome", the lips are going to be obscured by facial hair, especially the top one so I really havent worried too much about them so far.

Looking good so far! Quickie tip: Get some of those little round air rifle pellets, perfect for small eyeballs:)
