Hi all, My painting is not totally finished yet...I have been told that its getting too monochromatic... and the white light is abit too much... I am going to try and add more color but just wondering what do u guys think?

Yes - the white light is abit to bright. Especially in the right foreground area. The ledge or rock seems to be in FRONT of the light from the craft and therefore the lighting is too strong.
Some green / bluish tones may help the suggestion that this scene is underwater, at the moment it could be a ship flying through caverns.
Plus to help create some depth, you could place some warmer hues in the foreground to seperate it from the 'cooler' background.

I agree that the light is way a bit too much. However, I think you're starting to get a good sense of atmosphere, just try using colors, like purples, blues, and maybe even reds inlaid, to darken the image instead of black. Also be sure to defien the forms that you want us to focus on, cause right now it's somewhat unclear what;s going on.
Over all though, the mysteriousness of the scene is very intreguing so far. Looking forward to seeing what you do next,
Jen
