The idea of TNRT(The Nude Reference Thread) is that we are an art community and many of the help we find we should share with others to boarden our skills. Many nude references are used on the internet by artists, but quality references are very hard to find. Since we are a community why not share our resources with each other?

Post LINKS ONLY(bandwidth reasons) to urls or direct images of nude references. The nudes should be full body and of good quality and not blantly overly erotic. If you are under the age of 18, please do not post. I know some users under the age of 18 may beable to use images like this with their parents consent, but just to be safe... "just look don't touch".

Steve, doesn't fineart.sk (when it works) have something close to what you're looking for? They have model turn around images. They're not in a completely neutral position, some have hands on their hips, but they do show all angles.

This site can be a major pain to navigate because you have to keep putting in the pass-numbers they give you (free), but it is the best reference for nude men I have found, and is also updated often. Though there certainly is not much variation in body type (it's all steriod muscle men).

Lots of different poses, for men and women (just search for "nude male" or "nude female"), plus a good selection of different ethnicities. However, no exposed crotches and the like (which would be better for those who don't want people walking in on them and wondering...). Not all are full body poses, though, but I figure it could be useful nonetheless... especially if you want to study, say, the arm muscles in different poses.

Well... you can look for basically anything there, not just nude references~

MIKECORRIERO: Yeah, I know what you mean. Had my computer infected by a visual basic virus that had been tagged onto a site once, had to format my hard disk. It's a pain that you've got to watch out for these things.

Another site people might find handy. Its a program with 3D renderings of various poses. Only downside of the demos are the female version has had more features disabled than the male and there's a pop up that appears (not as a seperate window, though, just over the program so you can't see properly) periodically to get you to register it. It's worth trying though if anyone has the connection speed to download it

My name is Drakaina (http://drakaina.com), I am known as the first Fantasy art model of France (believe me when I started in 2001, not a lot of people even new what a Fantasy art Model was lol. 2. limits access to adult material (nude refernces including posts from Domai and Hegre etc.) unless U register
3. limits daily bandwidth (smth like 1 or 2 megs per day) unles U pay them something. N.B. To omit the bandwidth limit - just create several accounts of yours with confirmations sent to different e-mail addresses (there's a s**tload of free e-mail servers) and receive separate U/N and Passwords. I've got smth like 40 names and the only bugger I have - is logging out, making sure the cookies are erased and logging in under a different name.

Done a mischief ayy haha... I know what you mean, trying to get them angles lol. You dont need a mirror, this is what I do, set the camcorder up into a good position press record, do some cool poses, I got my hubby to sit in with me on a couple, then upload the movie to your computer, I use XP's movie maker which is sufficient for the job, play the movie back and take some screen captures in movie maker and save them to my pictures. I have done a couple of drawings from the screen captures, you can go through all the shots you like. I edit the images using Corel photopaint which is similar to photoshop.

Actually I do that all the time. My digital camera has a 10 second timer on it so it's pretty easy to set up a shot and then run over and pose. Here's an example. Got a pretty darn good likeness if I say so myself.

Not only is it a great pose file but it comes with a CD that has quick time movies of the mode pose from 360 degeres. The photographed their models on a turning dias which the moved about an inch between frames so you can turn the models pose to about any angle you want.

It's not hard to forge ID to get past US requirements for nude websites. I know one Ukrainian photographer who has sold stuff to Domai where his models have been 16 and 17. What would an American etc, know to look for with Russian and Ukrainian ID's? They wouldn't have a clue.

Plus, I have two daughters so I feel I may be qualified to accurately guess a girl's age :)

Quite a few asking for Zip files and other compilations.

I wonder if you are aware of directory stripping sites.

What they do is take all the jpeg links on a page, follow them to the pictures and open them all for you on one page. This allows quick viewing of dozens of full size pics at once without manually following all the links yourself. Some of them even come with downloading software allowing you to save all the pics to youre HD in one go.

Just cut and paste the gallery page into one of them and press go.

I understand what you mean Chrysalis, When I attended a four year art college I knew one of the best classes i could take was figure drawing. I was fortunate to have been able to have many chances over those four years or eight semesters to draw from a plethora of models.

While I have graduated from art college and do not have the opportunity to have live nude models ( of all shapes and sizes and complexions) I still find it necessary to not rely soley on my memory alone when attempting to draw a clothed figure.

While there are many pages with reference to "regular nude people" the one type of model that was not really as frequent was the athletic or what some may reffer to as " body builders " and some " porn stars". I agree " regular nude people" do not look like this, one need only catch a glimpse at the local public swimming pool. Though there is always at least a few people that have that toned look.

I have cousins that have that " body builder look" and while I do not, I still appreciate them as a regular person. Porn stars may not be regular, but the regular person definately includes athletic types as well. It's not always a fine line between athletic and what I would consider glam porm , though porno and athletic do have a wide range of people.

Here is a great image (in my humble opinon) http://www.photo.net/photo/pcd2668/arms-behind-head-8.3.jpg . I assume it illustrates the average north american caucasian female within the range of an athletic physique.

Some of the SG ( suicide girl ) images appear to me to be more of the regular nude ( un-athletic) physiques ( I am refering to complete2's first two female nude images). Their complexions at times reflect more pale or ligther tans than the typical athletic female models. This is a great realm which seems to have opened up within ten years of public access to nude images. While the erotic art undertones and overtones resonate from loud to subtle I believe this is a great range of females within a more alternative lifestyle physique. I've seen athletic phsyiques within the SG realm though their poses and body accesorising gives rise to more specific moods than more basic poses : head to toe, standing forward, back, side, reclined, etc. (though if anyone has some of these images that would be appreciated).

I have had any friends which find it a good time to pass away minutes or hours being stimulated and or amused by porn. I would say ( again in my personal opinon) that there are a great number of pornos that do not depict porn actors in the " star" genre. Simply check out http://www.fatpie.com/?w=1.

I realise the lack of variety in these examples has a range mainly including caucasian to north american nude females. Being a male multi ethnic asian as well as caucasian male I have to admit that I have my own personal preferences which are not going to be found within the world wide web. But then again it is wide, quite wide enough that I am sure like this thread on concept art that I will have luck finding specific physiques which will satisfy my aesthetic quest. So onward I go . No hard feelings to anyone. Keep searching, there are many complexions, physiques and sizes to reference from. I wil try to give to this thread some images in the future.

Until I find a better archive I personally like to use MET-ART for a lot of my reference material since I don't have regular access to live models. I usually only sift-through and save the full-body-shot photos, since I don't usually have the need to draw detailed vaginas (who do I have to kill to get that job?)

It seems to me that Met-art is much closer to porn than art. The poses are 90% spread leg shots and seem to be deliberately sensual. This never seems to be an issue with the male reference shots. Are there any reference sites that focus on classical poses for females?
