Welcome! Did I succeed in luring you into my evil lair- uuh, I mean my sketchbook by using the famous phrase from Pokémon? :lounge:

Well, I'm not the very best but I am Beste, which comes close. Right, so my name is Beste and with a name like that (given to me by my parents srsly) you'd expect me to be one helluva artist. Alas, I'm not...yet. I hope keeping a sketchbook and your feedback/critiques will help me on the road to become a great artist. My favorite artists are lychi, algenpfleger and janaschi. They inspire me so much and I hope to be as good as them!

What else? I'm an 18 year old girl, Turkish (but currently living in Holland) and I like animu, videogames, music from the eighties and playing poker. I have drawn manga since I was 11 years old and decided to study realism in January this year. The reason for this big change was because I didn't improve at all the last few years. Well, only by age! But it wasn't enough and I was very dissapointed. But instead of feeling depressed I picked up my sketchbook and pencils and started to study realism and everything related to it!

Anyway! Some of my studies (values). Mostly digital at the moment, all drawn on Paint Tool Sai...traditional works coming soon.

The first few are a bunch of crap studies, yes, crap but I like the progress. The drawings below are drawn from 16-01-10 to 31-01-10 and I used references ofcourse. Like Janaschi's drawing...which is still unfinished actually. I wanted to work more on the eyes and hair since I have a lot of troubles drawing the darn things and I am definitely going to practise so I can master it. Altough I don't have time at all...exams and tests coming up uuugh. Damn you Havo 5!

Is anyone interested in my animu drawings by the way?

Good to see that you picked up the courage to post :) I'm also from Holland btw, but you can see that^^

If you are really interested in realism I suggest to join the crimson daggers, we always meet at 15.00 (that's Dutch time) for an hour to paint. But seeing that you are in HAVO 5 makes me think that the only times that you will be able to see it are friday, saturday and sunday, just as me.

The first picture of your first post is depicted as your thumbnail, so moving your attached files to another post and uploading one works well :)

Hey Noodles, nice to see a fellow Dutchie! What is this Crimson Daggers...? Do you mean somewhere online or in a city? I don't even have the time on those days considering I have tests and exams to study for. This year will not be very productive when it comes to art-related studies sigh.

Thanks, I deleted the attachments, I'll re-post my drawings.

Started drawing realism in January, these are my studies from 16-01-10 to 31-01-10 and I used references ofcourse (like Janaschi's drawing..altough that one is still unfinished!)

Hi. Not a slump :P I have
1. a testweek which means a week full of hard tests
2. another one a few weeks after
3. exams

I'm in my final year so I'm really busy. I'm graduating in June so I'll have enough time by then. I hope.
