goddess & other stuff (erk, newbie!)

Erh... hi!

I'm laura. Shadowgirl's fine.. and i'm one of those wannabe illustrators that just graduated with fine arts degree last may and i'm slowly starting to get some commissions through the door.

this one is my favorite at the moment, one of the newer pieces (finished last week.) all photoshop, 11x14 inches..

love the bright autmn/summer feel of the second image :)
about the first image, I think you need to put more emphasis on the goddess herself (make her stand out).., instead of that read tree thingy behind her.

good stuff, I would like to see more of it :)

i'll post more -s- just wetting my feet with new people around here..

and i'm glad you liked that commission one, it's really the first one that someoned paid a decent ammount for and of course there was worrying on my site..

though, the goddess one.. the red is the most important part of it -chuckle- hense why it stands out so much and is really bright (a lot of my work, colors are toned down quite a bit).. though i can see some problems with where she's standing against the sky, sort of going in with the colors there. All the old drawings I did of the other gods, you can't really see them too well.. mainly because of this whole silly plot in my head about "mortals are too mortal to see gods without getting their eyes twisted out"

i should really explain things better -when- i stuff up the images -chuckle-

Shadowgirl these are awesome. I LOVE the first one. I think it is absolutely awesome just the way it is. I keep staring at it...great stuff. Hey I eventually want to get paid to illustrate etc...how does one go about getting into that?

i will post more.. i don't have new stuff.. everything else is over there -motions to fallenlights- Just started working too, so it just cut my day in half till i get used to working again -l- (I haven't since mid-september)
