faint lines on my monitor

hey guys

recently i started noticing these repetitious lines that move from teh bottome of my screen to teh top. sorta liek a bad reception for tv, except theres only two thin lines on teh screen at one time, and its faint.

im thinking my monitor might be crapping out on me. but its only like 1 1/2 years old --19inch Envision

is this a common thing?

Big deal, it doesn't matter how old it is. I had a 17 inch HP that lost its red hues after just over a year, and then died altogether after two more months. Fact is, if you get one with a flaw it will bust, and yours is probably doing that. If you have a warranty then get it looked at, but otherwise there isn't much to do. Well, you could go gently weep in the corner.

Oh btw, it occurs to me that it might be interference from another electrical appliance. Check to see if there is anything around your monitor that could do that.
