Well for the four heads i think you should study the planes of the head and you should use more contrast too. Keep uploading!

Thanks for commenting, and for the advice! For being first you win a cookie!

I'm really trying to learn the importance of realistic and proportional anatomy. I've always had a really illustrative deformed style and I never payed much attention, until I started looking through my stack and stacks of sketches a few months ago, and realized something. MOST OF MY DRAWINGS ARE THE SAME TWO POSES! Arms at sides, directly front on, or pretty much 3/4 view. I rarely ever draw feet, barely even get to the knees most of the time. Ive been doing a lot of work trying to stretch that little bubble ive put myself in. I'm planning on spending a week drawing a specific body part from every conceivable angle, and then moving on to another. A week on eyes, a week on noses, a week on mouths and so on. then when i'm satisfied i'll start putting them back together. A week on heads, a week on arms, legs, etc. then putting it all together. the whole time with quick gesture drawing exercises. we'll see how it goes

I really like all the images of your quick drawn poses. I've found that I too always use the same poses, or at least variations of them and don't often include much movement. This looks like it's a really good practice to just be free with poses and give them a bit more life, I think I'll try it out when I get some time, thanks!

zepheenia: I went to posemaniacs.com for reference on those poses. its really good at loosening up the tendency to make static poses.
