I am a best-selling author writing my second book, and I am wanting to include some cool artwork to go along with my non-fiction book.

The exact artwork I'm looking for will be inspired by the writing, and I am wanting to replicate the work that Bernard Chang has done with Neil Strauss (see cover):

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Emergency-Story-Dangerous-World-Alive/dp/1847677606/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1265105221&sr=8-4

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/images/1847677606/sr=8-4/qid=1265105221/ref=dp_image_z_0?ie=UTF8&n=266239&s=books&qid=1265105221&sr=8-4

There will be approximately 10 panel comics to draw (which will take up one page eg http://www.nytimes.com/imagepages/2003/09/16/arts/20030916_POPLIFE_IMAGE.html ) and a further 10 pictures for the start of each chapter.

Budget for work:

To be honest I have no idea how to set a budget for this work, however I am happy to negotiate a fair fee for the right person (and of course give the appropriate acknowledgements).

I understand this is a large job, and I am an author who is signed to a major publisher.

If you are interested, please provide me with examples of your work that are the most similar to the illustrations above (and of course your email so I can get in touch!).

Many thanks!

Many thanks.

Might be easier if you provided YOUR email so people could get in touch with you directly. For a variety of reasons, we don't really allow portfolio links in the threads themselves. (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=149892)

It would be more standard for your publisher to pick the illustrator for your book. Have you talked to them about this? It might save you some hassles down the line.

(Edit: removed my website link. Thanks for the cleanup.)
