I donīt think theyīre bad ... just havenīt got much time to post ;)

Especially I like their faces, showing even in the sketchphase some hints of the character. Itīs a little difficult to judge the figures as I personally think theyīre between sketch and concept-stage. I can see some minor flaws in anatomy but I suppose you know that you steadily have to work on it.

I think the first one is the better, having a straighter line, the second seems a little washed out. (Iīve got problems expressing, what I want to say in english ;)) Iīve got to confess Iīm quite into cartoon-style so the first one would be for me the direction to chose.

I would like to see the worked out concepts.

BTW Donīt let anybody tell you what you have to draw. I youīre drawing for yourself draw what and how YOU like. Develop your own style and donīt let others destract you. Do what you want and read "Illuminati" :D

Thankyou very much. I think your english is fine. You are correct these are somewhere between sketch and complete.
I had been doing character designs and example of which is below:

And I really felt like losening up the drawings. So These have been a little less finished and more free.

Here is my latest attempt to losen up even more.

No, not bad - I experience the same quite often, especially when I don't ask a special question. I took a look at your sketches, too, but saw no reason to reply cause I couldn't see any mistakes on the one hand but on the other hand frankly they did not appeal that much to me that I said "wow!". Sometimes it helps when you tell a bit more about why you draw what you posted and get a discussion going.

So don't get confused - this is a board with very constructive criticisms being posted (in contrast to some others where you get ahhhs and ohhhs and uhhhs for any crap you post - not what one really wants!).

I like your sketches... they are rather good. I like them better than your finished knight piece in fact. Like you said you are trying to loosen up and that is a good idea at first and then go back and refine parts after you have the whole feeling of the drawing down. Good stuff. Oh yeah and do read the "Illuminati" trilogy.

Thanks jester. I was being light hearted when I said that!

You are right that ooohs and arrrghs are not what I'm after. If I wanted that I would hang them up in a kindergarten. I respect the advice and opinions of the group that share this forum which is why I post. Also to be friendly.

Cog, thankyou. And I'll check out the "Illuminati" trilogy if I can find it.
